Christmas Eve

We decided to open presents on Christmas eve since we wouldn't be back home until the day after Christmas.  At the dismay of the many random people asking what we got Kaila for her first Christmas, we actually didn't wrap any presents for her from us.  Don't get me wrong, she got a lot of stuff from us.. she basically got one of everything that we got for any other baby we bought presents for.  I just didn't wrap any of them to put under the tree.  Honestly, she doesn't know what's going on.. She liked the wrapping paper, but there was plenty from the other presents she got.  So, before anyone judges us for being wretched bah humbug parents.. we're not.  I'm just.. practical.  We'll wrap presents for her next year.

Went up to Grandma B's house for Christmas eve.  We drove around for a really long time trying to find a restaurant that was open after driving around for a long time trying to find a place that we could buy her formula.  We were all starving by the time we found a spot for dinner.  We ended up having sandwiches at BJ's, and didn't even get a pazookie for dessert.  It was somewhere between leaving the parking lot and sitting at our table that Kaila lost her soothie paci.  We have about 10 at home.. but didn't bring an extra for some reason.  We had a different paci with us, but we're not sure if it was too small, or not as soothing as a soothie paci, or if Kaila was teething, or just not feeling comfortable in this new place, but that night was rough.  She was up until about 3:30am crying very loudly.  She'd fall asleep for a little bit, but woke up again and we'd have to walk around carrying her until she calmed down.  We eventually just put her down next to us on the floor and she fell asleep.  She'd still wake up every half hour or hour and whimpered a little, but I'd rub her back and shhh her and she'd fall back to sleep.  Kaila was lying horizontally on my pillow with her feet on Aaron, so I was squished up against her co-sleeper, and didn't get a very good night's sleep.  Aaron didn't either.  What a crazy Christmas eve.

Later that evening, Kaila didn't spend much time sleeping in it.. she was too busy screaming and crying all night to Daddy and Mama's dismay
