Ten Weeks!

Kaila turned 10 weeks old yesterday. We were in San Francisco when it happened- her first trip! I've decided that I need to make this week's entry in tiny installments since I'm kinda backed up on chores and errands due to the four days at play. Also, there are a lot of pictures to put up and things to write about.  Here's entry no. 1, Kaila's first plane ride!

The night before our flight, I wanted to take the pictures that were stored on the memory card in my camera and upload them to the computer so that I would have space to take lots of pictures.  I also ended up staying up until about 1 in the morning to write that blog about her doctor's appointment.  As luck would have it, I forgot to take the memory card out of the computer and put it back in the camera, so all the pictures of her first flight are taken with my phone.  Oh well.

Kaila did really well on the plane.  Aaron was holding her during take-off and she was smiling up a storm.  Aaron said there was a moment when she paused and her eyes got wide, like she realized something felt weird, but it was short lived and the okay-ness resumed.

There were two times on the flight when she cried. She got hungry so we fed her, and she needed to be changed. Other than that, she was fine. She slept through the landing which was good. Once we got off the plane, a lady came up to Aaron and I and said that we have the happiest baby. Turns out she was sitting in the row behind us, and was watching her. She really is a pretty good kid on most days.

A couple things to note, we checked 4 things (since Southwest doesn't charge to check bags): a duffle bag, a carry-on suitcase, her carseat, and co-sleeper.  We actually forgot her co-sleeper at the baggage claim when we got to SF.  Both of us totally forgot about it!  We were trying on a fuzzy pink bear warm outfit (which turned out to still be too big for her even though it's size 0-3 months) at the baggage claim, and the cuteness of it must have distracted the both of us.  Also, we had to straighten some things out with Southwest for our return flight which took a couple hours.  She was wet, so I changed her, but didn't stop crying, which meant she was hungry.  I wasn't expecting it to take that long, so I didn't have any more water to make Kaila's formula.  She got pretty angry and was screaming through the airport as I walked to a store to buy some.  Poor thing.  When she was done eating, Aaron and I were both sitting with her and she giggled her first honest to goodness giggle.  I don't know of many cuter things in this world.  I would say it even beats baby shiba inu puppies!

Took a couple videos with my phone.  Bad quality, and not much going on, but it's a momentous occasion that I've recorded; deal with it.  The first one was taken while we were taxiing, and the second one is as the plane is taking off.  She did so well!
