Aaron sent me this picture while I was at work today with the caption, "she exists!" Her social security card was supposed to take 6-8 weeks to arrive after her birth, and then we were supposed to be able to pick up her birth certificate shortly after. However, we went to the San Diego County Recorder after about 3 months to pick it up and check what was going on with her social security card, and they said she "wasn't in the system." So, then we went back to the hospital to see what happened to her social security card and birth certificate paperwork, but the office had closed 30min prior to us arriving there. SO... Aaron called the next day, and the girl who did our paperwork at the hospital happened to be the one who answered the phone. She said she must have forgotten to send it in. SOOO... she sent in the paperwork, and said we would probably be able to get her birth certificate the next week. We haven't gotten it yet, but at least now we know she's "in the system."
