Spew Circle

If you're easily grossed out, you may not want to read this.  I'm trying to keep the graphic details to a minimum.

So the day after we got back from Disneyland, I was supposed to work in the morning.  I felt fine when I went to bed, but when I woke up I felt gross.  Needless to say, there were several stomach issues going on, and I must have had the flu.  However, It was about a half hour before the pharmacy opened, so I just went to work, hoping that maybe I just felt bad because we had been on the go for the past few days and maybe I was just tired.  It was more than just that.  I went home early that day, as my body ached and I was nauseous and my stomach was oojie.  Mai was nice enough to come in earlier than she was scheduled to for me.

I got home, and was sitting on the couch feebly trying to eat some soup Aaron heated up for me, when Kaila started fussing in her room.  Aaron went to get her and I heard, "oh my gawd."  I shouted back, "what??" and all I got was another "oh my gawd."  So I walked into her room and there was a huge circle of spew in her crib.  Aaron showed Kaila to me, and it was all in her hair.  Poor baby had thrown up and rolled around in it.  I went into mama mode and my feeling of sickness melted away for a minute and all I felt was heartache for my little one.  We got the same stupid bug.

I took her into the bathroom to give her a bath, and she was her normal happy little self as I gave her a bath.  She was actually a pretty happy camper the whole two days she was sick.  She was just a little more tired.  I finished and Aaron had taken her sheets out and they were in a heap in the living room along with her clothes.  We sat down on the couch, and she seemed a little different.. like, her whimpers seemed a little more pathetic than usual.  Aaron didn't think there was anything wrong with her.  We sat for a little longer, and she got hungry.  We gave her a bottle, (still thinking that maybe she wasn't actually sick and I was overreacting) and she fell asleep on me shortly after (which she doesn't normally do, especially if it's right after she woke up from a nap).  She stirred a little, and lifted her head, and then it came.  ALL over me.  Aaron grabbed a towel, but it was a pretty moot point by then.. Oddly, it all got on me and the blanket we were using, none of it got on the couch or the floor, which was nice.  So, another bath, and more stuff on the heap.  So heartbreaking to see your little one sick.

That was the end of the throwing up, luckily.  There were a few other instances of leakage from the other end, however.  I changed out of a grand total of 4 pairs of pj pants, washed two comforters,  and a few other things in the span of 48 hours.  It was a short lived flu-like syndrome, and we're all pretty much fine now.  Thank goodness.
