It's been a really time of year. Halloween festivities, Hawaii grandparents came to visit, then it was Thanksgiving, then it transitioned into Christmas preparations.. so I haven't been doing a very good job of keeping up with the blog. There are so many things I think about writing about, but just never get around to it. Then I think about all the things I need to catch up on, and I wonder if I should wait to write so that it's in some kind of order.. anyways, doing some catching up now. Just a few highlights to transition to the present.

Kaila did pretty well at trick or treating.. we had practiced saying "trick or treat" before the actual day, but on the evening of, she wasn't really into it. She did enjoy saying "bye" once we were out of sight of the candy hand outers, though. I'm pretty sure she had a doodoo diaper for the last leg of the neighborhood, but she was a trooper and didn't freak out which I appreciate. My camera wasn't cooperating very well, though, so I didn't get many good pictures.

she was an owl.. but didn't like the mask over her face
Kaila got so much attention from the Hawaii grandparents during their visit. The pretty much think she's the best thing created since Kona coffee. Kaila even started calling them grandma and grandpa while they were here. Kaila, mom, and I were waiting in the car at Phil's bbq while dad and Aaron picked up the food. Mom was standing outside of the car, and Kaila looked out the window and said, "grandma!" Then she looked out the back window of the car and said, "where's grandpa?" Aaron and dad started walking back to the car shortly after, and Kaila was yelling, "grandpa, grandpa!" I almost started tearing up. It was really cute..
