Kaila started motioning please at a pretty young age. I don't remember exactly when, but I taught her what I (and all of my cousins) were taught when we were babies, by putting both hands on top of each other palms up. When Kaila started saying "peese," to accompany the motion, we thought it was the cutest word ever. She would say please when she wanted something, we just had to figure out what she wanted. As her vocabulary grew, she started saying "uppease" when she wanted up (or down). Now she's starting to say more very polite words.
thank you: "takkyu"
no thank you: "no takkyu"
bless you: "bessyu"
excuse me: "eese mee" (it seems to be a little different every time)
you're welcome: "wakkum"
They're all just so cute to hear. "Takkyu mama" has to be my favorite, though :) She can get a little loud and rough with the verbage, though, especially if you don't answer her right away. She'll start out saying it normally, "takkyu mama." If I don't follow that with a, "you're welcome," she'll say, "TAKKYU MAMA" pretty loudly. Sometimes I think she just likes shouting polite phrases for the fun of it.
