We also got to meet the baby bumps of the nugglet's future cousins. Kaitie and Jenn are due just a few months before me. Next year is the year for babies! We can't wait.
We had our 16 week OB appointment yesterday. We went early so we could do some labs to test for birth defects. We'll find out the results at our next appointment. If there is something wrong, the state is required by law to call the doctor, so they'll in turn let us know. (Let's hope we don't hear from them). It's a good thing we did go early, because the waiting room was the most crowded we've ever seen it. Most likely due to the surrounding holidays. So many pregnant bellies in one tiny area. We ended up waiting about 30min after our appointment time on top of the hour we showed up before our appointment time. We passed the time by looking at baby names.
We saw Casey, the NP, again. She answered our questions regarding radiation exposure from 4-D sonograms and airplane rides that we (well, Aaron) read about in a baby book. It's all ok, nothing to worry about. The grand finale of the appointment was getting to hear the baby's heart beat. Again, it was a little hard to find. It was really low in my belly, and it seemed like Casey had to push the instrument about half way down into my stomach. We finally heard it, though- fast and steady.
