I need to mention, first of all, that Kaila slept for 6 straight hours two nights in a row!! I woke up the first morning it happened, and looked at my phone to see what time it was, and frantically checked on her to see if she was ok (she was). So I asked Aaron what time she last ate, and he said it was about 11:20pm. When I checked my phone, it was 5:47am! How glorious. Hopefully this will become commonplace. We didn't change anything, we just follow her lead, basically; feed her when she's hungry, swaddle her when she's fussy, etc. So this is a wonderful, welcomed change in her routine! Hopefully there are many more nights of uninterrupted sleep to follow.
Yesterday was Kaila's first day at the beach. We packed up all our gear, threw it in the car and headed out. We rubbed sunscreen on the little one from head to toe and outfitted her in her yellow polka dot bikini (courtesy of Aunty Ann) which, of her 3 swim suits, was the closest to fitting (and it was still hanging off her body). It says size 0-3 months, but it's probably closer to the 3 month end. When we got to the beach, it was a little windy and chilly, so we busted out her pea pod, took a few quick pictures, and changed her into feetsie pants and a long sleeve shirt and swaddled her. It ended up warming up, so it was a nice beach day. She seemed to love the beach.. well, the sound of the ocean, anyway. We didn't go in the water. She slept pretty much the entire time we were there, waking up a couple times to be fed.
