Footprints, Feathers, & Fall

I've been wanting to get a footprint of Kaila before she got too big.  (She's 16 weeks old as of today.)  I didn't think it would be as difficult as it turned out to be.. but we managed to get one good footprint to put in her baby book.  Hand prints were equally as difficult because of her finger curling and wiggling.  Mama and Daddy got paint all over themselves in the process, too.  It was fun in any case.

Kaila's foot dipped in paint

Smooshed foot on paper

She curls her toes and wiggles a lot, so it's hard to get a good impression

A little paint may have gotten on her face...

..but for the most part, stayed on her foot

We had to put the Wii balance board under her because she dangles too much without it (even on the lowest height setting)

She likes it, but gets angry at it also

kanzashi headband Hawaii grandma made for her

she's so adorable I almost can't bear it!

The feathers and bells hit me in the face a couple times while holding her

they hit Kaila in the face a couple times, too, but she didn't mind

Eventually Bernard got a hold of it, though...

He ended up destroying it :(  the feathers and bells were too much for him to resist

We went up to Bates Nut Farm this weekend to pick out pumpkins for our annual pumpkin carving at Ann and Trav's house.  It was ridiculously hot, so we didn't stay long.  We did manage to squeeze in a little fall picture taking with Ann Sumi Photography and pumpkins bigger than Kaila.  After the farm, we went in to Julian for some pies, then back to the house to carve pumpkins.  Kaila was getting fussy, so she ate and then we left shortly after.  It was a fun filled evening, and Kaila's first trip to the pumpkin patch!
