Spent Christmas at home this year. It was our first little family Christmas. Mom came down from Long Beach on Friday, and we made tamales on Christmas eve. My first time making tamales, and they turned out really yummy! Aaron made mole, too. It was really delicious. Mikey came over for dinner and opened a few presents with us. We tried to stay up until midnight on Christmas eve, but Aaron and Kaila were the only two who made it. On Christmas morning, we opened presents. Kaila got lots of great gifts. She didn't really seem to understand the whole process, though. I thought for sure she would be ecstatic about her elmo gifts, but she just seemed a little claustrophobic about all the wrapping paper and gifts strewn about. A little later after all the paper and boxes were thrown away and the gifts were put into a pile, she started picking things up and playing with them, including her elmos. We must have read every book and played with every toy by the end of the morning. Had a lot of fun this Christmas!
