6 Month Wellness Check

I've been really excited for this appointment.. I could tell Kaila grew a lot since we had to raise her bouncer two notches since we got back from Hawaii.  My arms also feel like they're getting a super work out when I hold Kaila for long periods of time (and sometimes it doesn't even have to be very long).  I don't really worry about her gigantism too much, because she still fits clothes for her age (she's wearing six month old clothes right now and most brands fit perfectly); I'm guessing because she's pretty proportionate.

Waiting patiently for the appointment.

Without fail, every single person in the doctor's office calls her kay-luh.  Receptionist, nurses, PA, appointment maker, even Dr. Upton.  Aaron and I didn't even correct them this time.  The first few appointments we interjected and said oh, it's actually kah-ee-luh.  I guess this is just something we'll all have to live with for the rest of her life.  Sorry Kaila.. I don't regret giving her the name, I just wish people had an easier time sounding it out.  Kai.  La.  I don't think it's that hard, but considering even Aaron said kay-luh a few times at first, I guess it is.  haha  Now, the exciting part.. the numbers!

Here's our little butterball getting weighed!
An impressive 20.3lbs

Here she is getting measured..
28.5 inches!!
I heard that and kept thinking, wow!  That sounds so long!  Is it normal for a baby to grow 2 inches in 2 months?

look at those meaty thighs.. she'll be walking soon for sure.

Waiting for the doc to come in

sitting nicely with Dr. Upton

She's always liked Dr. Upton.

Dr. said that Kaila's healthy and developing just fine.  She's 99th percentile in weight, and off the charts in height!  I mentioned that Kaila said "dada" in passing the other day.. she was jabbering and it came out, but it didn't seem like she knew what it meant yet.  He said it's normally one of the 9 month developmental milestones to say a word and not know what it means.  Maybe she's going to talk soon too!  Ah, our little baby is growing up too fast.

No pictures of shots, I had to hold Kaila down this time.  One oral vaccine, and three shots.  She took the oral one like a champ.  Not one whimper.  She cried after she got her shots, but not for too long.  It was relatively smooth.
